The song in my head

I was standing in the intersection of Rt404 and Rt50 in Maryland's Eastern Shore wishing for a ride. I walked to the ocean without lifting a thumb, Thanks to Jackson Brown's "Late for the Sky". For me, that was a pivotal point in my life and musical education. I listened to that song and album until I knew every lyric and chord change. Usually the first album by an artist is their most important , but Jackson's third I believe is his best. Nothing was more important than knowing how these wonderful songs were crafted. When "Late" plays on my IPOD, I still get a lump in my throat and I can remember the day, the smell of the air, feel the sun on my back as if it were yesterday. Thank you Jackson!

Peace in the Middle East,
Elmo

How long have I been sleeping
How long have I been drifting alone through the night
How long have I been dreaming I could make it right
If I closed my eyes and tried with all my might
To be the one you need
